In its "Preparation for Legal Education," the American Bar Association (ABA) does not recommend a particular course of study for pre-law majors. Nor is there any evidence that law schools give preference to a specific undergraduate major. Law students come from every conceivable area of study. In addition to this, the Boston College pre-law track does not have any set guidelines for students. Some students find it beneficial to take rigorous writing courses that challenge them and ultimately help prepare them for the rigorous writing of law school.

- #1 Letters of Recommendation (LORs)- Law school applicants typically need 2 to 3 LORs in order to send in with their applications. Law schools typically prefer these letters to be from an academic source, therefore, you should attempt to build and maintain relationships with at least two professors.
- #2 The LSAT Exam- The Law School Admission Test.
- #3 Personal Statement- Essentially, the personal statement is your interview, it is a place where you tell the admissions personnel something about you that they can not deduce from your other application documents.

The Law School Admission Council website is the primary source of information forthe law school application process.
The Boston Lawyer's Group offers a yearly Summer Internship to undergraduate pre-law students. The Council on Legal Education Opportunity offers information, programs, and guidelines for the pre-law student. Additionally, CLEO offers summer law-school related programs for freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Not everything you do throughout your college career has to be law related. INROADS provides excellent internship programs and learning opportunities for qualified students. Boston College's career center also offers a magnitude of information regarding pre-law school documents such as: letters of recommendation, the personal statement, and the law school admission test (LSAT). |
